Autel Nano Plus - The Ultimate Mini Drone

Autel Robotics officially unveiled their long-awaited EVO Nano Series at CES 2022, promising great video capabilities in less than 250 grams (0.55 lbs). That number is its selling point, as nothing below it requires FAA registration (if you're in the US). There is also a different, more relaxed air zone regulation for this weight class.

Autel EVO Nano+ is a Solid Alternative to DJI MINI
Although back in 2019, DJI created the first folding drone that weighed less than 250 grams. Now, its MINI range has some serious competitors. First FIMI, then Hubsan and now Autel Robotics.

EVO Nano+ Standard Kit: Remote Control, USB Type-C Charging Cable, Cell Phone RC Data Cable (Micro USB, Type-C, Lightning), a set of spare propellers + screws, and user manual. In addition to that, the premium set includes a power adapter, multi-function charger, 2 spare batteries, 2 spare propeller sets, a propeller mount and a shoulder bag.

Available in 4 colours, the EVO Nano+ series measures 142×94×55mm with the folding arm and weighs 249 grams on the scale (including battery, propeller and microSD card). Thanks to its ultra-compact size, it can fit comfortably almost anywhere in a backpack or special case. Its small size also makes it discreet, perfect for capturing natural beauty while avoiding disturbing local wildlife.

On the back, there's a USB Type-C charging port, rear status LEDs, and a micro SD slot below the battery bay. To be as lightweight as possible, Autel opted for active cooling instead of an aluminum radiator. There is a tiny radial fan in the center of the belly of the fuselage.

The EVO Nano Plus has a total of 6 computer vision sensors located on the front, rear and bottom for 3D obstacle avoidance. There is also an ultrasonic sensor on the bottom of the drone for precise hovering.
